Video embed code?
#1
Forgive me - I don't know how the Internet works.

How do you folks get the embed code of a YouTube video to work so you can play it in the post?

Whenever I try to just copy/paste the code, it just shows the code and not the video:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AHx09CzutWg?si=o0lP2YhgEDtDO_de" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Same thing when I use the "Code" function in the post:
Code:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AHx09CzutWg?si=o0lP2YhgEDtDO_de" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Thank you.

you have to click the film reel option when posting a reply or new thred, that opens up a drop-down menu where you can paste the link to the video to embed, as well as the website the video is coming from. this BBS framework hails from 2002, there's a lot of modern conventions it's not designed to accommodate without excessive modding

Hey man!
What Edmund said!
You gotta use this little button right here:

Then you gotta select the right website, and copy paste the video url.
Hope that helped!

This forum needs a serious update!

Youtube tag for short reels does not work, nor does the Facebook tag work! .. as for the other tags some of those sites no longer exist..

Wally! Update please!

There should be an update feature surely, I know this forum software is incredibly out of date but im sure there should be someway to install an update.

I've installed a few forums in my day and update through the cpanel was always fairly easy. Im not sure of your set up, I dunno, maybe it's not straight forward as it once was

I could update the forum software, after making a backup. No guarantee it'll have the features you're talking about though.
