I've been itching to do some game development lately but I'm trying to be good and stay focused on studying and work. The urges took over the other day though and I decided to make something quick and easy to get it out of my system.
The game turned out to be quite difficult in the end, but I think that fits when looking at how janky and unforgiving old video games could be. I also think it captured enough of the essence of the original game that I'm happy with it, but I would have loved to spend more time developing something more intricate and intentional.
For anyone into old-school games I'd recommend you give this a try! I've intentionally explained very little about the game though. You'll have to put some proper effort and adventuring in if you want to beat it. Good luck, and I hope you have fun! Thoughts and feedback are most welcome! (Even if you don't play it)
