Hell yes dude! That looks supreme.
I wish bread didn't take so much effort/planning to do well. I feel gatekept out of baking bread due to lifestyle.

it was a bit frustrating at first but only because this was from a sourdough starter that had been sitting in the fridge for over a year so it took a few weeks to properly revive it. but i made a shitload of flatbread from the discard before it was rising enough to do this. i like to imagine i'm saving money making my own bread than just buying it from the store but really i have no clue

Oh yeah, Sourdough is bread making on hard mode, I gave up on it because keeping the yeast alive wasn't compatible with my ADHD brain.

Also, unless flour is expensive where you live, it should be cheaper to make home-made bread.  Blush

a 10lb bag of flour is around $10 here depending on the quality you get. you can also get pre-sliced bread for very cheap.. but if you want good bread then you pay a lot more. at the very least, even if you suck at making bread, you can probably make healthier bread than what is on the shelf at a grocery store in America, for the most part.

There have been times where I really wanted to maximize my frugality, and I wondered if it would save money for me to make my own bread.
However, I'm quite satisfied with the price and taste of supermarket bread here in the Netherlands.
With that said, making bread sounds fun, and nothing beats the taste of homemade food!

Maybe I'll give it a go one day!

sounds ridiculous, but I like the self-imposed chore of feeding my sourdough starter much more than I actually like baking anything with it these days...it gives me roughly the same feeling of satisfaction in keeping something alive that watering my plants does
